BOARD ANNOUNCES FEE SCHEDULE FOR 2012

posted 22 Feb 2012 05:33 by East Freo

The Board would like to announce the membership fees for season 2012 in advance of our Registration Day this Sunday 26 February 2012 at 11am.

With a greater understanding of our external costs we are able to ensure the fee structure this year covers the minimum amount required to remain financially viable.  We have tried to provide a fairer system where players not available to play the whole season can opt to pay for a half season or social membership.

The Board also recognises that through extended bar opening hours and more social events in 2012 we should increase revenue and profit.  In view of this we have decided to reduce all fees by 15-20% compared to those in 2011.

This strategy is aimed to keep lacrosse affordable to all players however its success relies heavily on members paying their fees as soon as possible.

We have introduced a couple of new membership categories to cater for all players and to encourage non players to the Club.

All players will automatically receive free social membership as part of their fees.  For senior players this also includes your spouse and children under 18.  Parents, friends, supporters etc will be encouraged to take up a social membership throughout the year.

Social membership will have real tangible benefits such as – member’s discount on merchandise, reduced ticket prices to social functions and free workshops and interactive activities throughout the year.

We have invested in a new mobile EFTPOS machine.  Our committee members will be available with the machine at training nights and game days to assist our members with their fee payments.

As a final note - the Board is willing to pass on further discounts in fees (in the form of reduced costs to the annual wind-up or lower fees in 2013) in the event we turn a profit over and above budget forecasts.  This outcome largely rests with your support and the payment of fees – so please get behind us in 2012!

On behalf of the Board we wish everyone an enjoyable season.

Social Function Feb 18, 2012

posted 18 Feb 2012 15:45 by East Freo

Last night Jeff and Pat Kennedy hosted the very first social function for 2012. Although numbers were low due to poor female attendance, it was a great opportunity to kick off season 2012. Being only 10 weeks out from our first game, it was great to get together away from lacrosse and get to know each other that little better. The night consisted of food, beverages, an all mighty pool competition and a poor music selection by Jeff Kennedy. The pool competition showed of our boy’s hidden skills with Grayzer and Mitchell Ellis each pulling off some fluky shots leaving everyone stunned – there was even a moment when Dave Cottam needed a few minutes to regain his composure after Grayzer sank the most un-sinkable ball. Shot of the night goes to Ryan Sparks who aimed for the top left pocket only to miss and swing the ball back 45 degrees to sink it in the right middle pocket. We thank Jeff & Pat for opening up their home for the evening and also Tracey & Dave for organizing the night. The next Social event scheduled is our very first Family Fun Day which is set for April the 22nd . Mark it in your calendars and we will see you there!

Don’t forget Registration Day is February 26th (NEXT WEEKEND) from 11am-1pm at the East Fremantle club rooms. Come down for a sausage sizzle and bring your sticks for a throw around.

You instinctively ask “What is Moby?”

Moby is the East Fremantle Lacrosse clubs brand new, easy to use and very portable EFTPOS machine.  It has arrived and our first transaction has already gone through (pictured). In moving forward in the growth as EFLC we have introduced an easier way to pay for fees, merchandise etc and it will be available for use at all times. On game days and trainings Moby will float around the ground with his owner/operator and kept close to the bar at all other times.

Welcome Moby - we hope you make many friends and enjoy your time with us!

EF Women's welcome new goalie Tessa Atkinson

posted 3 Feb 2012 04:01 by East Freo   [ updated 3 Feb 2012 04:04 ]

The East Fremantle Lacrosse Club would officially like to welcome a new player to their women's group - Tessa Atkinson. After an extremely exciting 2011 season with super-star all-rounder Anne-Marie Hall putting her body on the line for us in the cage (and doing a fantastic job at that), we invite AM back into the attack line to score her super specky goals and welcome Tessa into the cage to do her thing.

Tessa traveled to Germany last year to participate in the FIL U19 Women's Lacrosse Championships and was a key player in the teams silver medal win playing 6 out of the possible 7 games.Being selected to represent Australia as a defender/goalie, Tessa will be a great addition to our already fierce and competitive team.

Welcome Tessa - We hope you enjoy the blue side!!

Outstanding fees

posted 9 Jan 2012 06:02 by East Freo   [ updated 9 Jan 2012 06:09 ]

Letters have been sent to those with outstanding fees for previous years informing members of any debt and methods of payment. The club is not in a financial position to write off player fees so to prevent further action being taken, we highly encourage those who receive letters to pay as soon as they can. A collection date for outstanding fees has been organised for JANUARY 21 down at the clubrooms (Preston point rd, Easft Fremantle) from 9am-midday. If you recieved a letter and have actually paid your fees and believe there is an error, this is a good oportunity to discuss with the president and treasurer.

Social trainings begin next week!!

posted 5 Jan 2012 01:14 by East Freo   [ updated 5 Jan 2012 01:15 ]

To kick start the 2012 lacrosse season Dave Cottam (our talented 2011 recruit) has organised a pre-pre-season for all women's and mens senior and u17 players. The weekly sessions will be held down at the club and will be more of a social play than serious buisness. Wether you need the exercise to drop a few christmas kilos or you want an early start to polish off your mad skills, come down and enjoy the fun. Dave anticipates that it will be just a quick 45 minutes of ball handling and running, followed by a social catch up to stay in touch leading up to the season. If you are interested there is no need to rsvp just arrive down at the club at 7pm every Thursday beginning 12/01/2012. This is a great opportunity to get to know each other and build strong social connections between teams leading into 2012.
